Laura Love and Barbara Lamb at Port Fairy Festival, March 2007: Laura went on her first tour to Oz in 2007 and brought her fiddler, the amazing Barbara Lamb. The two of them brought down the house at this great gem of a festival in the small coastal town of Port Fairy. Two vocals, electric bass and fiddle. They didn't know if that combination would work, but once you hear it, you'll see why the Aussies adored our girls. At this site, you'll have two choices. Laura's mainstage set includes a lot of material from her new CD, NeGrass, as well as some well loved older songs: Brogan, The Cuckoo, Savin', Shady Grove, Saskatchewan, Barbara's great song Bootsie Met a Bank Robber, Freak Flag, 500 Miles, This Train / Ezekiel And The Wheel, There Ain't No Ash Will Burn, and Dear Old Southern Home.

And, if you love Laura's spiritual side, these folks also recorded the Gospel Blues Theme Concert. If you've ever been to a music festival, you know that the theme concerts' or workshops, are sometimes the highlight of the weekend. Musicians who do not usually play together are paired up to play music that they have not rehearsed and sometimes the high wire act produces some unanticipated and remarkable performances. Laura and Barbara jumped at the chance to participate in the Sunday morning gospel show with some very well regarded Australians, including Kelly Auty, Lil'Fi, Fiona Boyes, Marisa Quigley, Linda O'Brien, Sarah Carroll and Chris Wilson. You can hear Laura singing in the background to some of their songs and they join in on Laura's songs. You can't believe this version of Amazing Grace. Also included are Wade In The Water, I Saw The Light, This Train/Ezekiel, Talk About Suffering, Lift Up Every Stone, Save Me Lord, and others. If gospel is what you're looking for, you will want this.

The Port Fairy concerts are available as downloads only. Go to https://www.liveband.com.au and click on Laura Love or Gospel Blues Theme Concert for more information and for audio clips.
